The first edition of Script Fest will take place from Thursday April 16 to Sunday April 19, 2026: four spring days dedicated to audiovisual storytelling.

The program will include meetings with film and TV writers, a long weekend of events across the local cinemas and the prestigious UNESCO-listed landscapes of Langhe and Roero, and to wrap it all up, ending the day around the table in the birthplace of Slow Food.

Free screenings will take place in Bra’s two cinemas: Multisala Vittoria and Cinema Impero, both located in the historic town center. The program will also feature training sessions and masterclasses with guest writers, alongside informal events in the bars and wine bars of the city, echoing the spirit of the international festival Corto in Bra, which from 1996 to 2017 saw many now-established filmmakers take their first steps right here in Bra.

Guests will be hosted in the city’s accommodations, known for the quality of their hospitality and cuisine: Bra is home to the headquarters of Slow Food and to UNISG, the University of Gastronomic Sciences. Script Fest aims to foster conviviality and exchange between guests and the local community.

The first edition will take place in Bra from April 16 to 19, 2026 and will focus on Italian film and television productions released in Italy between January 1 and December 31, 2025.

The Script Fest Awards will include six categories:

The awards will be decided by a Script Academy made up of all professional Italian screenwriters, the combined membership of WGI and 100autori. Writers will be voted  on by their peers, with no conflicts of interest. The full membership will vote online for the best screenplays across all categories, from all projects released in Italy in 2025, with voting closing in March 2026.

The six winning works will be screened at the Festival, followed by masterclasses with their writers. In addition, an internationally renowned screenwriter will

be invited to Bra to meet the festival audience. Dedicated screenings and masterclasses will be held in their honor, and they will receive the Script Fest Lifetime Achievement Award.
